conducting training, regional staff exchanges and study tour for NGO
workers.
- Provision of a service center to
provide administration support, technical hands-on assistance for NGOs,
and exploring options for procuring a permanent office facility for
TANGO.
- Assist NGOs in expending their own
resources in identifying opportunities for funding shared staff and
further facilities
- Extend TANGO's benefits to the
outer-islands through developed programmes and projects.
- Continue investigating and seek for new
ways in assisting NGOs and their changing needs.
ENHANCING RELATIONSHIPS
Objective : To increase mutual cooperation, coordination and
networking between the civil society, donors, government and other
project stakeholders operating in Tuvalu and the region.
- Establishing and maintain ongoing communication with
government to have NGOs in their panning and review committees,
participation in policy development (economic, social) at the local and
national level, to have formal funding mechanisms to support NGOs, and
to have more scholarships for NGOs.
- Establish and maintain ongoing communication with
donors about TANGO activities and to develop an increase in the broad
base of support for NGO projects in Tuvalu.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between
NGOs within Tuvalu and the region.
- Enhance strong links between NGOs and traditional
leaders.
- Have regular dialogue between NGOs and private sector
organizations.
TANGO ORGANISATIONAL ADMINISTRATION AND MANAGEMENT
Objective : To upgrade and strengthen the organisational
capacity of TANGO as the umbrella organisation in the delivery of its
programs, projects and services to the NGO community
- Continuously review and upgrade TANGOs administrative and financial
system policy procedures.
- Develop and manualise TANGO project operations procedural
guidelines.
- Design an appropriate and workable monitoring and evaluation systems
for TANGO activities including its member NGOs.
- Continuously upgrade, enhance the professional skills development of
all TANGO staff and members of the Executive Committee.
- Annual Assessment and review of "Our Way Forward" - The
2001 - 2004 Strategic Plan.
INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION
Objective : To provide timely and relevant information on topic
of concern to NGOs/CBOs in Tuvalu
- Timely and regular quarterly production of TANGO Newsletter.
- Continuously upgrade the design and lay-out of the newsletter
- Expand the circulation outlet of the newsletter for its maximum
reading coverage and impact
- Establish a a comprehensive database of donor directories in the
Pacific countries/region
- Continuously raise the profile of the NGOs/CBOs through regular
radio broadcast of their development plans and community activities.
