In 1968, FSP opened it's office in Sydney, Australia to co-ordinate
programmes in the Pacific region. This office grew into the first FSP
developed independent affiliate and is today known as The Australian
Foundation of the Peoples of Asia and the Pacific, one of the leading
non-government organizations of Australia, working in some 20 nations of
Asia, the Pacific and now Africa.
The program assists FSPI and its Pacific Island network members to undertake projects in key development sectors and enables them to focus on the priorities of each nation. Components include the sustainable use of natural resources, institutional strengthening, civil society, education, health and small enterprise initiatives.
