Mission: To be responsive in the conservation needs of Samoa's people with respect to its environment, to take proactive action in advocating on environmental issues, and to increase the awareness of Samoans on sustainable use of natural resources and environment matters, in order for them to reap the full benefits from the outcome of these efforts.

Vision: The O Le Siosiomaga Society to be Samoa's most dependable, value-added and effective and efficient Environment Non Governmental Organization

The objectives of the Society are:

  1. To monitor the state of the environment in Samoa, with particular emphasis on the impact of human activities on land (including lava fields), fresh water, lagoons, reef, ocean and air; and to promote only those policies and practices which have positive impacts;
     

  2. To disseminate information and create public awareness amongst its members and communities regarding environmental matters;
     

  3. To demonstrate sound ideas and practices for the purpose of promoting conservation and sustainable development through carefully selected field project demonstrations to draw on traditional knowledge and practices where ever they are considered beneficial;
     

  4. To resist any attempt to bring the Society under the control of any persons or bodies other than those established by its constitution;
     

  5. To ensure that rules and procedures established for the smooth operation of the Society are adhered to at all times;
     

  6. To corporate with similar organizations within Samoa and through out the world for the purpose of advancing the cause of conservation and sustainable development;
     

  7. Without prejudice to its other objectives, the Society shall also carry out whatever is necessary to strengthen its capabilities, capacity development, institutional arrangement, and financial support to enable its work programme to run efficiently and economically.
