The Tonga Community Development Trust (TCDT) is an indigenous, non-governmental development organization operating in the Kingdom of Tonga. TCDT’s focus is Poverty Alleviation with special attention on the less developed, more disadvantaged areas and communities of Tonga with specific interest in the poorest of the poor. Its activities focus on: Home, Family and Community Health; The Environment; Village Women’s Development; Rural Water Supply; Community Agro-Forestry; Social, Human and Community Development Training; Disaster Preparedness and Rehabilitation; Human Rights; Good Governance. In 1979 the Peoples of the South Pacific/Tonga (FSP Tonga) was established. The original focus of the organisation was on women's development and health issues, including water supply and poverty alleviation. The organisation was renamed to Tonga Community Development Trust in 1985. Executive
