As a community-based organization, TANGO's principal concern is
encouraging and assisting NGOs in their work to enable human development
within Tuvalu. TANGO encourages this to be undertaken in a sustainable
manner, ensuring the long-term survival of its own organization and any
projects in which it assists. TANGO seeks to ensure transparency and
accountability for the activities for TANGO and other members of the civil
society and offers leadership to NGOs by example and guidance.
TANGO values the spirit of democratic participation and mutual cooperation
and wishes to encourage a climate of service and volunteerism.
Goals and Objectives:
To strengthen the capacity of NGOs in Tuvalu to initiate and manage
action for sustainable human development.
To improve the capacity of NGO/CBO (Community Based Organization)
leaders and workers to effectively carry out their roles and
responsibilities.
To increase cooperation, coordination and networking between NGOs donors
and governments operating in Tuvalu and the region.
To provide timely and relevant information on topics of concern to NGOs/CBO
in Tuvalu.
To strengthen the organizational capacity of TANGO in order to develop
and deliver services to NGOs and CBOs.
To increase the accountability, transparency and administrative
efficiency of TANGO's operations and improve all communications.
