Youth Drop In Centre (YDIC) is a project run by FSP
Vanuatu and currently funded by NZODA. Although it has actively been running youth workshops for many years, YDIC opened its first centre in December 2000 but has since moved to a larger premises.
YDIC has continued to offer a wide range of activities aimed at reducing poverty and enhancing self-esteem amongst Vanuatu most vulnerable citizen, the urban youth.
The YDIC's project consists of five components with particular aims as how to reach youth and their problems:

Practical Skills Development
Establishment of Permanent YDIC Facility
Community Outreach and Awareness
Effective and Efficient Project Management and Monitoring
YDIC offers a wide range of activities to Port Vila's youth such as vocational training, reproductive health information, counseling services, sports activities and income generating skills training. In workshops both boys and girls come together to work on a project. Workshops like Floral Art, Joinery and Carpentry are very popular amongst the youth.
YDIC works with individuals, community groups, churches, organisations, schools and government departments as well as with the press to successfully implement its activities.
