About SIDT

Solomon Island Development Trust (SIDT) is an indigenous non-government organisation founded in 1982. Since then it has been a primary proponent of community-level development in the Solomon Islands. SIDT has worked with villages across the provinces of the Solomon Islands to promote community empowerment in areas of governance, education, health, environment, natural resource management, and disaster risk management.
SIDT is governed by a Board which is mandated by its constitution to have representation from the government, financial institutions, women and youth organisations, churches and villages.
