The
Living Reefs Community-based Coral Reef Management in the
Pacific project is being implemented in Tuvalu, Kiribati
and Vanuatu. Through this project our partners Foundation
for the Peoples of the South Pacific Vanuatu (FSPV), Tuvalu
Association of Non-governmental Organisations (TANGO) and
Foundation for the Peoples of the South Pacific Kiribati
(FSPK) will assist target communities establish and facilitate
community based marine resource management, and provide
and coordinate technical advice to these communities as
required. Activities in target communities will also be
used as training opportunities for other NGO and Government
staff to enhance their capacity to assist other communities
in establishing and implementing community based marine
resource management processes with the complementary funding
provided by the European Commission. The project commenced
in May 2004 and is due for completion in March 2007.
