This program will continue in 2003 in Solomon Islands, Fiji, Kiribati and Vanuatu. Work on Voices and Choices has opened up the scope for community governance to be more fully incorporated in key sectors. For example, the project has linked with UN/EPOC to incorporate urban community plans into municipal corporate plans; discussion with education officers have taken place for possible input into school discussion with education officers have taken place for possible into school curriculum on civic studies; and customary systems explored for greater official recognition. Key activities for 2003 will include implementation of community plans and developing awareness programmes at all levels.
