Research As Mental Health is a relatively new area when it comes to mental health related activities in communities all the work that the project does starts off with a research to define the existing structures and possible routes of effective action for sustainable work in the mental health area. There is also the issue of a major gap in mental health literature for the South Pacific region which this project hopes to minimize to encourage future work in mental health in the region. One of the major research outputs of the project is the individual country based situation analysis which justifies mental health as a key issue, highlight issues faced by young men affecting their mental health and recommendations of possible ways of addressing these issues. This component also guides the other four components of the project namely Sustainable Livelihoods, Advocacy, Promotion and Awareness & Education. The following are some research papers that will be an output of the project.
Participating organizations will also be given the opportunity to carry out further research on a recurrent issue throughout their work.
